Social Media Glow Up

Don’t overthink, just start by sharing something simple every day.

In this post, we are going to spend some time getting you better with social media. Let’s start with the big picture…

In today’s world, you need to be active on the social front to stay relevant. Every brand does. From the big players to those just starting out.

Your ability to engage with prospects, convert them into customers, and grow your inbound lead gen and business is going to be directly related to your ability to create content on various social networks.

Now, if the thought of creating content just put a big food bolus in your throat – don’t worry this will help.

Start with this.

Consistency is the key! Do just this and you are going to be ahead of 80 – 90% of the others out there.

So many organizations and individuals start out white-hot and fade just as fast. If you can keep publishing on a consistent basis over a period of time… good things are going to happen.

How do you like to communicate?

You need to figure out how you like to engage with people. For example: Do you enjoy writing? Or do you prefer video? What about podcasting?

It really doesn’t matter what channel you focus on — all you need to do is pick the one you enjoy the most because that will help keep you going.

There will be down times for sure. Times when you don’t want to produce anything and don’t feel like you have any good ideas. If you stick with the channel you enjoy, it makes things just a little bit easier. And that may be all you need to get over the hump.

What to post?

Many struggle with the type of content to produce on a regular basis. So here are some thought-starters to help you out.

  • What questions do you get on a regular basis?

  • Keep a list of FAQs and create content around answering these questions. Join Facebook groups. You’ll see the questions people are asking and this will provide a lot of good info.

  • Post about what’s happening in the travel space. This could include trends, news stories, or even your own insights about what’s going on.
  • Attend webinars or conferences? Often these are loaded with insights. Take some of what you’ve learned and post your notes.
  • People who you’ve sent on vacation. Get their take on what they liked, and what they didn’t and use that knowledge on social.

  • Your own personal stories. This could include your favorite experiences in a destination. Or a favorite restaurant. Packing tips. Gadgets to make traveling easier and more enjoyable. Things to avoid.
  • And don’t forget about AI resources: ChatGPT, Bard, Llama, etc…These sites can help with the grunt work – providing you with a list of ideas that you can then fine-tune and prioritize.  Don’t be scared, this is your new bestie.

Oh yeah, keep this in mind.

Refresh your content. It’s simple to do. For example, let’s say you publish a piece on current travel trends in Europe and you publish that in 2023. Refresh that piece for 2024, 2025, and so on.

As you continue to produce content you’re going to get better. So look back at past posts and refresh the ones that got some good engagement.

An Easy Win For Great Video and Collateral
